My name is Gilles Munezero, and this site is where I bring together my ideas, projects, and experiences. I am passionate about building products that solve real-world problems and creating technology-driven solutions that make a meaningful impact.

My Journey

My career has been a dynamic path spanning multiple industries, from finance, healthcare, and hospitality to IT solutions and fintech. Each step along the way has shaped my understanding of business, technology, and product development.

I began my professional journey as an immigrant, working as a bookseller at Barnes & Noble—an experience that now feels like a lifetime ago. Like many others, I navigated the challenges of balancing work and education, constantly adapting and learning along the way. Over the years, I gained hands-on experience in various roles—whether it was in customer service, financial operations, the military, or leading product development efforts. These experiences taught me the value of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.

Across all the many roles I’ve taken on throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of building meaningful professional relationships with mentors, peers, and managers. Each of them brought unique perspectives and insights that shaped my understanding of leadership, problem-solving, and the value of networking. These connections have been instrumental in my growth, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and continuous learning.

Lately, I’ve been making a concerted effort to expand my network by connecting with like-minded professionals in different settings, such as chamber of commerce events, startup pitch competitions, and industry networking gatherings. These opportunities have allowed me to engage with innovators, exchange ideas, and broaden my understanding of how businesses are built and scaled. I believe that professional relationships are more than just career stepping stones—they are avenues for shared knowledge, inspiration, and collective success.

Most recently, I worked in IT and digital transformation at Cigna, where I collaborated with business and engineering teams to drive strategic initiatives. This included working on mergers & acquisitions, API integrations, cloud cost optimization, and process automation among others. My ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams has been a key strength throughout my career.

Individu Tech – My Next Chapter

As a non-technical founder, I decided to take on a new challenge: building a fintech platform focused on community-based savings and financial empowerment. Individu Tech was born from a vision to digitize traditional group savings models (known as Chamas, Ikimina, Tandas, Susus, etc.) and make financial collaboration seamless.

In this journey, I have:

• Defined the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with user needs.

• Led efforts to secure partnerships with banks and cloud providers.

• Worked closely with a developer to bring the MVP to life.

• Focused on user research and market validation to refine our roadmap.

The goal is to scale this platform into a trusted financial tool for diaspora communities and beyond, helping people pool resources, save smarter, and access peer-to-peer lending.

What Drives Me

At my core, I am driven by the desire to build meaningful products that solve real-world problems. My work with Individu Tech is a testament to that—taking a concept rooted in community finance and transforming it into a digital platform that empowers people to save, lend, and grow together.

Beyond my startup journey, I am actively looking for opportunities where I can apply my skills as a Product Manager, helping organizations build impactful solutions while navigating complex business and technical landscapes. As a non-technical PM, I thrive in roles where I can bridge the gap between business objectives and engineering execution—aligning vision with strategy, collaborating across teams, and ensuring that the end-user experience remains at the heart of product development.

I am seeking a role that allows me to contribute meaningfully, leverage my experience in product strategy and execution, and help organizations scale and innovate. Whether it’s a growing startup or an established company, my goal is to bring structure, vision, and execution to products that make a difference.
